Une fois l'armée d'occupation nazie chassée, les filets sous-marins qui obstruaient l'estuaire proche, en prévention de potentielles intrusions navales, ont été étendus sur les dunes de sables aux Cantines, à Le Verdon-sur-mer, pour lutter contre l'érosion éolienne et stabiliser la dune.
Aujourd'hui ces mêmes filets bien oxydés sont toujours plus ou moins visibles, certains cheminements piétonniers y sont très proches. Prudence.
